Fireworks fly at 3 Valley resorts

IGNITE at The Phoenician

The Phoenician, a AAA Five Diamond resort, makes the Fourth of July holiday weekend sizzle with a variety of family-friendly activities, from s’mores and stargazing to dive-in movies and the new SURGE splash pad. Capping it all off is IGNITE, an indoor

carnival featuring a mechanical bull, shock wave obstacle course, mini-golf, face painting and more.  That evening, the band Young Country will perform on the Casita Lawn with complimentary glow sticks for guests, followed by a colorful fireworks display.

Festivities are for resort guests only. Room rates start at $159 per night. Visit thephoenician.com/ for more information.

Freedom Fest at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess

The AAA Five Diamond Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is unfurling its fourth annual “Fourth of July Freedom Fest,” a two-day event with vintage air shows, concerts, fireworks, all-American fare, military tributes and poolside fun. The resort will host a vintage air show July 4 and 5, in conjunction with Friends of Freedom and the Falcon Warbirds. The Freedom Fest tribute concerts, with a patriotic introduction and fireworks intermission, are complimentary for overnight guests or those dining in La Hacienda, Bourbon Steak or Ironwood American Kitchen. The resort’s Sip, Savor & Splash package is available from $199 per night and includes a daily $50 resort credit. The package includes the concerts, fireworks and any complimentary resort activities, with late check-out available until 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 6. A portion of the proceeds from every vacation package during Freedom Fest will benefit Friends of Freedom, a local non-profit organization that provides support to military families.
