Firefighters fight blaze at vacant Phoenix home

PHOENIX - Firefighters extinguished a fire at a vacant home Friday morning, but there is no word yet on what caused the fire.

According to Phoenix Fire Department Captain Ruben Saavedra, crews arrived to the home located at 16th Street and Thomas Road before 8 a.m.

The single-story home was "well-involved" with heavy fire, Cpt. Saavedra said, but no injuries were reported and the fire was quickly put out.

Firefighters reportedly aggressively searched the home as they fought the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
