Fire: Phoenix pot dispensary catches fire, crews say cause may be busted light bulb

PHOENIX - A Phoenix marijuana dispensary caught fire Monday evening, according to fire officials.

Captain Ben Santillan, spokesman for the Phoenix Fire Department, said firefighters were called to the Encanto Green Cross Dispensary near 26th Avenue and Encanto around 9 p.m.

Santillan said the fire started in one part of the building where 60 small marijuana plants were growing.

The official cause remains unclear, however, firefighters said dispensaries typically use a lot of electricity and a light bulb may have burst igniting the fire.

Santillan said firefighters found a lot of smoke inside the building, but were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

No other details were released.
