Fire destroys vacant Phoenix apartment complex

Phoenix firefighters are trying to figure out what caused a massive fire at a vacant apartment complex early Wednesday morning.
Three of 12 units at the complex near 10th Avenue and Roosevelt were engulfed when firefighters arrived.
The fire spread to the attic space which made the fire more challenging to fight, officials said.
Fire spokesperson Larry Nunez tells ABC15 there were no injuries.
Nunez said even though the apartment was vacant, crews always have to assume that it is possible someone could be inside. He said often times transients get into vacant buildings to sleep.
