Talk about a touchdown!
Dozens of young students from across the Valley are getting a surprise.
Fiesta Bowl Charities and ABC15 teamed up to donate 60 youth footballs to 21 Valley schools.
The donation is an effort to help the schools that participate in the Playworks program.
Playworks is a national organization aimed at teaching children about leadership, anti-bullying and many other skills during a controlled recess environment.
The first donation came Thursday morning when Sparky, the Fiesta Bowl mascot, joined myself and several Fiesta Bowl representatives at Bethune Elementary School in Phoenix.
While the children were happily surprised, as were the Playworks coaches at Bethune, it didn't end there.
Bethune Elementary Principal Dr. Ronnie Pitre was invited by the Fiesta Bowl to attend the Fiesta Bowl kick off luncheon at The Arizona Biltmore Resort.
In front of a sold out crowd, Pitre was called to the stage for the second part of her surprise.
As she stood in front of the crowded ballroom, Fiesta Bowl representatives handed her a check for $90,000 to keep the Playworks program running at Bethune for three more years.
