FD: Young girl nearly drowns in Phoenix

PHOENIX - Phoenix fire crews say a young girl was taken to the hospital after nearly drowning in a pool Monday evening.

Phoenix Fire Department Captain Ruben Saavedra said the incident happened around 8:20 p.m. near 4th and Clarendon avenues.

Authorities said the girl, who is approximately 12 years old, was pulled out of the pool and was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Saavedra said she is expected to be okay.
