FD: Woman struck by light rail in Phoenix, transported to hospital

PHOENIX - Authorities say a woman was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a light rail train Monday night.

Jonathan Jacobs, spokesman for the Phoenix Fire Department, said a 42-year-old woman was struck by the Metro light rail near 38th Street and Washington.

He said the train was traveling about 20 miles per hour. The woman was transported as a trauma patient to Maricopa Medical Center.

No other details were released.
