PHOENIX - The Phoenix Fire Department rescued a woman stuck on the mountain at Papago Park since Wednesday morning.
According to Phoenix fire spokesman Larry Nunez, the woman was somehow stuck in a crevice after hiking Papago Park.
She was able to locate nearby hikers Thursday morning and yell for help, Nunez said.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., crews from Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe fire departments responded.
A technical rescue team repelled the mountain and lowered the woman using a lowering system and ropes.
The woman was not injured and she went home after the incident, Nunez said. She is in her 30s.
"This is what we practice for," he said. "It went real smooth, we did an excellent job."
Papago Park is located near Van Buren Street and Galvin Parkway.
