Woman rescued from Shaw Butte Mountain

PHOENIX - Phoenix fire responded to a woman needing help on Shaw Butte Mountain Tuesday morning.

According to Phoenix Fire spokesperson Larry Nunez, initial reports came in of a woman lying in the middle of a trail.

When officials made contact with the hiker, they loaded her into a vehicle and drove her down the mountain to be evaluated.

According to Nunez, the woman rescued is in her 60s and reportedly fell. She was complaining of shoulder pain but refused to be transported to a hospital.

Shaw Butte Mountain is at North Mountain Park near Central Avenue and Thunderbird Road.
