PHOENIX - Phoenix police are working to identify a man who died Sunday morning while hiking in South Mountain Park in Phoenix.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Jonathan Jacobs said the man, in his 50s, was found lying on the ground by a group of hikers about a half mile into the Pima Canyon Trailhead around 8:30 a.m.
The hikers performed CPR on the man before firefighters arrived. He was taken to a Valley hospital where he later died.
Authorities said the man's death did not appear to be suspicious.
Fire officials said the man only had car keys on him and no identification.
Phoenix police are working to identify the man and contact his relatives.
