FD: Dog killed in Phoenix house fire

PHOENIX - Officials are investigating after a house fire killed a dog Monday afternoon in Phoenix.

Phoenix fire said the fire started around 4:30 p.m. near 30th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. The homeowner told firefighters he returned home to find his house full of smoke and fire.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a dog that died from smoke inhalation.

The fire was quickly extinguished. No one was home at the start of the fire, Phoenix fire said.

Two people are displaced due to the incident.
