PHOENIX - Four dogs and two cats were rescued from a condominium fire Sunday evening in Phoenix, according to fire officials.
Phoenix Fire Captain Ruben Saavedra said the fire started a little before 5:30 p.m. near 12th Street and Maryland Avenue.
The residents, Cari Cavuoto and her son, were at church at the time.
Their six pets were rescued from the burning two-story condo, Saavedra said.
Crews coordinated resuscitation efforts, and the pets were all reunited with Cavuoto. But two cats and one dog were taken to an emergency hospital, according to an ABC15 crew on scene.
Cavuoto said she rescues animals from local shelters and is now unsure where she will live since she was renting the condominium.
If you are interested in helping her and her family, she asked to be reached at 602-403-1911.
Arson investigators were looking into the cause of the fire.
