PHOENIX - A man's late night walk with his dog Tuesday ended in a triple shooting in Phoenix.
Phoenix police spokesman James Holmes said a 41-year-old man was walking his dog when a 22-year-old neighbor vomited off a balcony around 10:15 p.m. at an apartment complex near 32nd Street and Thomas Road and hit the dog.
Police say the two men then started arguing, and then the younger man got out a gun and started shooting.
The 41-year-old was hit. Police say the gunman also started shooting at the 41-year-old's apartment and hit his 14-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son.
All were taken to the hospital. The 41-year-old is in critical condition. His children have non-life threatening injuries.
Samuel Whitney heard the shots from his apartment from across the way.
"I came out and saw the kids getting carried out on a stretcher. I couldn't get over the fact this guy had the nerve to shoot at kids," Whitney said.
Police say the shooter ran off. They also say these neighbors have a history of fighting.
The suspect is described as a 22-year-old black male with black dread locks.
