FD: 2 hospitalized after bee attack in South Phoenix

PHOENIX - Fire Department officials say two people were taken to the hospital after a bee attack in South Phoenix Thursday evening.

Authorities say the incident happened around 5:15 p.m. near 24th Street and Broadway Road, near the base of South Mountain.

Officials say the pair got stung more than 50 times in the short time it took them to run to their trucks and lock themselves inside.

Fire crews say the hive was inside an old, abandoned car.

Beekeepers came and eventually foamed the bees out of the area.

The condition of the victims is unknown at this time.
