PHOENIX - Authorities have made an arrest in a crash at a Phoenix bus stop that left two people dead.
Phoenix police say the pedestrians were struck about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday as they were about to board a bus and were struck by a pickup truck that had swerved into oncoming traffic.
Police say the truck was headed in the wrong way when it plowed through the bus stop.
The pickup crashed through a fence next to the street and ended up in a vacant lot.
Police say 43-year-old Raymond J. Barela is being held on suspicion of two counts of manslaughter, one count of aggravated assault and one count of aggravated DUI.
A 47-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman died in the accident while a 36-year-old woman suffered minor injuries.
