PHOENIX - Phoenix police are investigating whether or not a deadly collision Monday afternoon may have been the result of drag racing.
Authorities said a vehicle and a truck collided around 2:30 p.m. near 16th Street and Roeser Road in Phoenix, killing one person.
Officials said two people inside the truck, a 14-year-old boy and 36-year-old man, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Fire officials said the driver of one of the vehicle's died at the scene.
Air15 video showed a gray vehicle heavily damaged and a white truck on top of it.
Sgt. Trent Crump with the Phoenix Police Department said witnesses reportedly told authorities that two vehicles were drag racing before the accident.
The vehicle that authorities are looking for is described as an older model--possibly 1964 or 1965--Chevy pick-up truck, he said.
The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on 16th Street through Southern Avenue.
Anyone with information about the vehicle's location is asked to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness.
