Did you used to eat at Mamma Mia’s Pizza? The FBI may want to talk with you.

The Phoenix Division of the FBI is conducting an investigation of the now-closed Italian restaurants.

After closing in 2012, all that remains at the former location at 39th Street and Indian School is the sign. A new pizza place has moved in, but Mamma Mia’s used to be a local favorite.

“I got into a big habit of calling in and having the order delivered, and I would give them a credit card number,” said a woman who did not want to be identified for security reasons.

The FBI isn’t telling us who agents are investigating or if anyone has been arrested.

“I just figured he was up to no good selling off our credit card numbers, and then the next thing I know, the store closed,” said the former patron.

According to the Arizona Corporation Commission's website, Mamma Mia's was owned by Frank Grassi, Sr.

That’s who the woman says she talked to when she noticed charges on her credit card, from out of state, that she didn’t make.

“I said, ‘Hey Frankie, someone is selling off credit card numbers from your office because both of the cards I used at your restaurant in the last couple of weeks have now been charged at a gas station in California,’ and he hung up.”

There’s no telling how many similar cases there could be from January 2012 to July 2015.

“And then we started hearing from a lot of friends and neighbors and people who had the very same experience coming out of Mamma Mia’s,” she said.

The FBI would like to speak with anyone who was a customer of Mamma Mia’s Pizza between January 2012 and July 2015 and who had their home burglarized or were a victim of credit card fraud.

The restaurants were located at 3937 E. Indian School Road and 809 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix.
