PHOENIX - A father and daughter were killed when their plane, which was eventually destined for Arizona, crashed near St. Louis, Missouri Saturday morning.
Randy Vaughn, spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, said neighbors heard a loud crash Saturday morning west of Spirit Airport.
Police identified the victims as 41-year-old Shiv Patil and his 7-year-old daughter Sonia Patil. They departed at 4:50 a.m. from Spirit Airport in a Cirrus SR-22 destined for Texas, with a final destination of Arizona.
The plane crashed just west of the airport.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating.
