PHOENIX - A Phoenix police officer was injured Sunday morning after being dragged two blocks by a man suspected of driving drunk.
Authorities said the incident happened around 12:45 a.m. near 34th Place and Glenrosa Avenue.
According to police, the officer was speaking to the suspect, who he pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving, when the suspect took off in his car with the officer still holding onto the window.
The suspect dragged the officer two blocks and hit two vehicles before eventually crashing into a tree.
The officer was knocked unconscious and suffered a head injury. Another officer was also injured when he was struck by the fleeing vehicle.
Both officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to be okay.
Authorities said the suspect was also hurt. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
Police have not said what charges the suspect is facing at this time.
