PHOENIX - Authorities say a highway patrol officer has been injured after a suspect vehicle rammed a motorcycle and patrol car in Phoenix.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves said DPS was looking for the vehicle when officers spotted it near 44th Street and University Drive.
A motorcycle officer and patrol officer pulled the vehicle over with the suspect vehicle between them.
Graves said the suspect vehicle backed up into the motorcycle, then forward into the patrol car before fleeing. The motorcycle officer three fired shots as the suspect sped away.
The motorcycle officer suffered an injury to his knee. The officer in the patrol car was not hurt.
The fleeing suspect was involved in a crash along the US 60 near McClintock Drive in Tempe and taken into custody nearby.
Air15 video showed the suspect vehicle dangling over the freeway, held back by guard rails.
Graves said the suspect was not struck by gunfire.
