Divers, search crews continue to look for Justin Otto lee Anderson at Saguaro Lake

PHOENIX - Divers are searching Saguaro Lake trying to locate a missing man after he dove off a 300-foot cliff.

Deputy Joaquin Enriquez, spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, said Justin Otto Lee Anderson jumped off a 300-foot cliff west of Sandy Beach, Sunday afternoon, June 16 into Saguaro Lake and never resurfaced.

Witnesses told police that Anderson jumped off the cliff and hit his back against the water.

A Department of Public Safety Phoenix Ranger and a MCSO helicopter conducted aerial searches, while crews used an underwater search vehicle to search beneath the water. Both searches did not locate the missing man.

Divers were also used, but were unable to locate Anderson. The search was eventually called off around 9:15 p.m. Sunday night as water conditions worsened.

Authorities said the search will continue with the use of a drop camera, which is better suited for the lake.
