PHOENIX - A federal judge appeared inclined to order Arizona to provide more information on the drug it plans to use in two upcoming executions after a hearing Friday.
Judge Roslyn Silver promised a ruling by Friday evening after noting the two convicts had established a First Amendment right to the information.
But Silver also suggested the state could submit the information on the drug's lot number and expiration date under seal to protect the company providing the drug.
In another case filed by one of the inmates set for execution this month, an appeals court ruled against Edward Schad in his claim that his lawyers were ineffective at trial
Schad is set for execution Wednesday and Robert Glen Jones Jr. on Oct. 23.
