PHOENIX - A man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and endangerment in a 2008 car accident on a Glendale freeway that killed his friend.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 29-year-old Danny Padilla Ruiz entered his plea Friday and is expected to be sentenced Feb. 11.
Ruiz was indicted in December 2009 and a warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to appear in court.
Ruiz was extradited from California back to Arizona last June and booked into the downtown Phoenix jail.
Prosecutors say Ruiz told authorities that he had been drinking before he crashed his car on the Loop 101 in July 2008.
The crash killed his passenger, 33-year-old Noel Caro.
