PHOENIX - It is a busy day at the Amazon fulfillment center in Phoenix. Roughly 2,000 employees were working to ship out orders on Cyber Monday.
It is the most important shopping day of the year for online retailers.
Cyber Monday is a marketing term for the Monday that follows Black Friday.
Last year, spending reached $1.25 billion, according to Marketwatch. This year, experts estimate that spending could surpass $1.5 billion on Cyber Monday.
At its flagship fulfillment center in Phoenix, workers were scheduled to ship items all day and overnight. The warehouse was stocked with books, electronics, appliances, and other popular items.
Some of the deals of the day included a flat screen Panasonic television set offered at roughly 60 percent off and the Kindle Fire which was selling for roughly $129, according to Craig Berman, Amazon's VP of Global Communication.
