Crash causes backup on Phoenix I-10

PHOENIX - Traffic is moving again after a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in west Phoenix had all lanes of traffic backed up for several hours.

The accident occurred around 11:10 a.m. near 63rd Avenue, according to the Department of Public Safety.

A DPS spokesman said a westbound pickup truck reportedly went through the median barrier into the eastbound lanes, hitting two vehicles head on.

Phoenix fire spokesman Jonathan Jacobs said three people were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries, including 83-year-old and 76-year-old males in one vehicle and a 56-year-old male in a second vehicle. He said a fourth person was treated and released at the scene.
