Christina Pacheco update: Woman arrested in fundraising fraud in Phoenix

PHOENIX - A woman is accused of creating fraudulent charitable coupon books and soliciting teenagers to sell them door-to-door in Phoenix.

Phoenix police say 39-year-old Christina Michelle Pacheco was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of use of a minor in a criminal syndicate, taking the identity of another person, fraud scheme and forgery.

Her bond was set Thursday at $25,000. Pacheco doesn't have an attorney yet.

Pacheco allegedly paid teens to sell the fraudulent coupons in the name of the organization Students Against Destructive Decisions.

Police say the coupon offers weren't authorized by the companies displayed.

The scheme unraveled when a teen tried to sell the fraudulent items to SADD's Arizona director.

Police say Pacheco was found in possession of more than 80 coupon books that displayed the SADD trademarked name and logo.
