The moral of this story, I suppose, is that if I can do it, anyone can.

“Thank you, thank you...that's how it's done.”

But that’s not how it began. This awkward anchor with two left feet was inspired by the Oscar-nominated “La La Land” which makes dancing look like it could spruce up your everyday routine.

“We always say you'll be coming in walking and you'll be going out dancing.”

Sarah Petrov showed off the newest Fred Astaire Dance Studio in north Phoenix that invites everyone to learn how to put one foot in front of the other to music.

And the result speaks for itself -- you don’t have to be a star to dance like one.

“Couples, singles, men, women, you name it. They come to us to ballroom dance.”

So how do these students feel out on the floor?

Kathy and David decided retirement was a great time to start a new hobby together.

Lynn loves dancing, too.

“I forget about everything else in the whole world.”

But not this guy, right?

“Left foot...left...left foot…”

“Step-by-step, slowly each lesson. You can learn to have rhythm if you've never had it before,” Petroy told me.

So it’s not just on the big screen that you can count on that Hollywood magic making for one fun trip, uh -- that is, graceful glide -- across the ballroom floor.
