PHOENIX - A man has been transported to the hospital after he was apparently shot at a West Phoenix apartment Monday morning.
Larry Nunez with the Phoenix Fire Department said crews responded to a call of a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest near 41st Avenue and Camelback Road.
Phoenix police Officer James Holmes said the victim is a male.
There was no word on the victim's condition, although in Air15 video he appeared to be conscious and moving around as he was taken to an ambulance.
Air15 video also showed what appeared to be a woman in handcuffs being led away by police from outside an upper floor apartment.
Police said the victim was not being very cooperative with investigators and they are not sure what happened in this incident.
Holmes said a woman who is the victim's girlfriend or wife was booked into jail last night for assault and damage charges involving a neighbor.
Holmes said only the victim and a 3-year-old child were in the apartment at the time of the shooting.
