PHOENIX - Arizona’s Attorney General said he could have been killed in a tire slashing incident that was unbeknownst to him.
Tom Horne said his mechanic told him the two front tires on his gold Jaguar sedan had been slashed.
“They were slashed in a way that you wouldn't notice it,” Horne said.
“When you get on the highway, they would both blow at the same time,” the mechanic told Horne.
“That could kill somebody inside” the car, Horne said.
Horne learned about the situation Thursday, he said.
He had sold the Jaguar, and driven it to the mechanic who was going to examine it.
Horne believes he was driving on the tires after they had been slashed.
Horne’s office did not release photos of the slashed tires, nor reveal the mechanic’s name, pending the investigation into the situation.
