About 60 Arizona soldiers returned this week from duty in Afghanistan, making for a happy homecoming.
Unit 56 Military Police Company of the U.S. Army Reserve has spent about one year away from their friends and families.
The soldiers arrived Tuesday by bus from Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, where they have spent the last two weeks demobilizing.
SSG Lysne was one of the many soldiers to be greeted by their families. However, he was greeted by someone he had never met before -- his daughter Paisley Mae.
Tiffany Lysne was pregnant with Paisley Mae when SSG Lysne was deployed, back in April of last year. The two also have a son named Tanner, who was barely crawling by the time of the deployment.
After a few painstaking minutes of seeing her husband right in front of her, the soldiers were discharged. Tiffany’s excitement led to a dead sprint right for her husband.
“I just can’t believe he’s really here. I want to pinch him,” she said.
After an overwhelming few minutes, SSG Lysne says that he’s excited to be home with his family and both of his kids.
