PHOENIX - An Arizona Department of Corrections officer is facing numerous charges after Phoenix police say he allegedly sexually exploited a 15-year-old girl.
The officer was arrested Thursday after witnesses contacted authorities. They told police they found sexually explicit text messages on the teen's phone.
Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump says search warrants were served on the suspet's home, his vehicle and his phone and detectives found evidence supporting the allegations.
The 23-year-old officer was arrested at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Lewis, where he had worked since Feb. 1.
He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on suspicion of sexual conduct, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
