Arizona election officials to discuss errors on Spanish voting documents

PHOENIX - On Friday morning, Maricopa County election officials will discuss errors made on Spanish voting documents and announce a media outreach plan to inform the Latino community of the correct information.

ABC15 revealed misprints on a voter ID document and a bookmark . On both, the wrong election date was listed as November 8th. The actual election date is November 6th.

"They need to admit the mistake, share how they plan to rectify it and move forward," said marketing specialist Scott Hanson with HMA Public Relations. "They need to be able to reach out to those closest to the voters, like maybe the parties, to help them get the message out."

Maricopa County Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox, Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell and County Election Deputy Director Karen Osborne have scheduled a press conference for Friday at 10 a.m. at the Maricopa County Elections Office.

The purpose of the press conference is to announce an outreach media plan to inform the Latino community of the correct date of the Arizona General Election.

The press conference will be attended by several Latino community leaders directly involved with the Latino outreach project.
