PHOENIX - The Arizona Attorney General announced Friday the creation of a task force to address elder abuse statewide.
Tom Horne, Arizona Attorney General declared the launch of the Taskforce Against Senior Abuse as part his office’s Public Advocacy Division on March 4, said Amy Rezzonico press secretary of the Arizona Attorney General.
TASA plans to provide protection for seniors and will mandate prosecution for abuse, neglect, exploitation and scams that target seniors.
A key element of the Taskforce is the formation of an intra-office liaison with the office's criminal, consumer protection, Medicaid fraud and community outreach sections to prioritize elder abuse awareness, prevention and prosecution, Rezzonico said.
The Taskforce has established a hotline in which caregivers or family members can report elder abuse.
The Taskforce Against Senior Abuse phone number is 602-542-2124 and the email for TASA is firstname.lastname@example.org .
