Firefighters helped bring an injured hiker down off South Mountain Saturday evening.

Crews responded to the Pima Canyon trailhead, on the eastern edge of the mountain, around 5:30 p.m.

Officials said a 70-year-old woman fell and injured her wrist and knee.

Firefighters were able to get to her using a brush truck and used the vehicle to bring her down off the mountain.

Authorities said the woman would be evaluated for possible transportation to the hospital once off the trail.

No other information was immediately available.
