PHOENIX - Several juveniles went on a spree burglarizing several cars, including lighting one on fire, in Ahwatukee overnight.
Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department said four males broke into six vehicles throughout a neighborhood near Ray Road and 48th Street just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
One of the vehicles was even set on fire as it sat in the driveway of a home.
Steven Carroll was jolted out of bed around 3 a.m. by an officer knocking on his front door.
Carroll came out to find flames shooting out of the roof of his car.
With the flames spreading to the garage, he ran back inside to get his roommate out of the house.
Carroll believes he was randomly targeted. His was the only car burned, but everyone on his street is feeling the impact.
"Everyone was out in the middle of the street just looking like, 'Oh my God,' because we live in a pretty nice neighborhood, you don't expect this in Ahwatukee," Carroll said.
Sgt. Martos said none of the four suspects have been located.
