AHWATUKEE, AZ - An Ahwatukee neighborhood has a big cat problem.
A family of five bobcats has moved in and they don't seem to just be passing through.
People in the Equestrian-Warpaint neighborhood have seen the cats crossing streets, climbing trees and backyard fences and hunting rabbits.
Dorie Corrette says they've shown up in her yard every morning and night for weeks.
"The little ones roll around in the grass and the mother just hangs out watching them," Corrette said.
She worries they'll go after her pets and feels like she has to protect her small dogs anytime she lets them out.
"There's always coyotes, snakes, we have the desert here but, this is the first summer with bobcats. Now we feel threatened, they're not moving on," Corrette said.
The Arizona Game and Fish department has told neighbors they basically have to try and scare the cats away by spraying them with hoses or a water/ammonia mix.
They also have the option to pay for a professional trapper.
