Show Low car dealerships close to honor crash victims

SHOW LOW, AZ - Several northeastern Arizona car dealerships were closed for business Monday following the deaths of Ruth and Gerald Hatch in a plane crash early Saturday morning.

The Hatch family owns car dealerships in Winslow, Snowflake and two in Show Low.

Ruth and Gerald Hatch, 66, died when the plane they were in crashed shortly after takeoff from the Show Low Regional Airport around 6:30 Saturday morning.

The couple's son, Robb, and his wife Kelly were passengers in the plane and remain hospitalized in Phoenix.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board hauled the wreckage from the crash to an undisclosed location in the Valley to begin to determine what caused the plane to go down.

Reached through Facebook, surviving members of the Hatch family declined to comment to ABC15 for this story.

Former state representative Debra Pearson called Ruth and Gerald Hatch "incredible people."

"It's devastating," said Pearson.  "They're just incredible people."
