Officials say two people are in custody for starting more than two dozen fires Sunday morning.

A release from the Sedona Fire Department says crews responded to West Sedona School, 570 Posse Ground Road, just after 6 a.m. for a report of a fire in a trash can.

Firefighters arrived to find multiple fires burning in different locations. Fire Marshal Jon Davis said most fires burned the contents of the trash cans where they ignited and had self-extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.

One fire was set inside some lockers outside the school building and extended into the wall but did not enter the classroom on the other side, firefighters said.

Investigators have determined a total of 25 fires were set: seven at the school, six at The Sedona Hub (525B Posse Ground Road), and 12 at Posse Ground Park (525 Posse Ground Road).

Authorities said two suspects are in custody for starting the fires and there is no threat to the public.
