OAK CREEK CANYON, AZ - Authorities say a Tucson woman on vacation in northern Arizona is recovering after she was sexually assaulted in Oak Creek Canyon.
On Friday, they released a composite sketch of a man wanted in connection with the incident.
Coconino County Sheriff's officials say the incident occurred Wednesday.
The 52-year-old woman says she was vacationing in Flagstaff.
On her way home to Tucson, she was driving through Sedona and stopped on the side of South 89A close to the Call of the Canyon day use area to admire the view of a creek.
Sheriff's investigators say the woman was approached from behind and physically assaulted by a man who then fled on foot.
Detectives are trying to determine whether the suspect was armed at the time of the assault.
The man is described as in his mid to late 40s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build with dark brown medium length hair.
He was last seen wearing brown pants with side pockets, a dark colored sweatshirt and cowboy boots.
