Prostitution sting nets 4 arrests in Yavapai County

PRESCOTT, AZ - In an effort to combat human trafficking in Yavapai County, several law enforcement agencies joined in an operation to eliminate demand for underage and adult prostitutes.

YCSO officials say the operation targeted buyers who would willingly hire prostitutes for sexual gratification. 

Authorities say the suspects initiated contact in response to a notice from an internet publication and made arrangements to meet the "girls" in a hotel room.

Officials say four men were arrested in the sting.

Alex Arizmendi, 18, remains in custody on a $5,000 bond after agreeing to pay for sex with both an adult and a minor. He was charged with child prostitution, a felony, and prostitution.

Isidrio Espino-Fierros from Las Vegas, 40, was released on a $4,000 bond. He faces a charge of entice person for prostitution, a misdemeanor.

Jeffrey Sunderlin from Surprise, 47, was released on a $2,000 bond after being charged with entice person for prostitution, a misdemeanor.

Sean Davis from Tuscon, 42, was released on a $2,000 bond after being charged with entice person for prostitution, a misdemeanor.

Human trafficking is the second most prolific crime, second only to narcotics trafficking in terms of generated revenue, says Scott Mascher, Yavapai County Sheriff.
