PRESCOTT, AZ - Prescott police arrested a man on February 11th on suspicion of exploiting young children through pornography.
According to the Prescott Police Department, 40-year-old Jeremy Barnette of Bagdad, Arizona, was staying at a friend's home on January 15.
Police said around 1 a.m., Barnette allegedly entered his friend's nine-year-old daughter's room, took off her clothing, and began taking pictures of her on his cell phone.
When the young girl screamed and started to cry, Barnette took off, police said.
According to officials, a Yavapai County Sheriff's deputy found Barnette spotted 3:30 a.m. driving along State Route 89 and stopped him.
Prescott police said Barnette denied taking the pictures and claimed he lost his cell phone earlier in the day.
Police said Barnette was suspected of something similar in 2004, but was never charged.
On February 11, police and deputies searched Barnette's home and found images of child pornography. Police said some of the images were from the 2004 exploitation case.
Police arrested Barnette on suspicion of seven counts of sexual exploitation of a child. He was booked into the Yavapai County Jail.
