Prescott police are investigating after a woman reported $450,000 in jewelry was stolen from her home.

Police said rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings, including a gold-and-diamond ring with a pear-shaped 1.8 carat-diamond, were among the jewelry that was taken.

The 62-year-old woman told police that at the end of March a local cleaning randomly contacted her to express interest in cleaning her home. The woman and the company agreed on a price and two men cleaned her home for two hours and then left without asking to be paid, according to police.

The woman went on vacation at the beginning of April and came home to find the jewelry missing. She told police that she remembered seeing the bag of jewelry after the cleaning crew left and before she went on vacation.

The home is located in the 1700 block of Quail Run in Prescott.

Police contacted the cleaning company and conducted a search warrant. However, they could not discuss specifics about what detectives may have discovered.

No arrests have made in the investigation.

They are now asking the public for anyone who has any information possibly related to the case to contact them. Prescott police can be reached at 928-777-1925. If you want to remain anonymous, you can contact Yavapai Silent Witness at 800-932-3232.
