Prescott officer, driver collide

Prescott police say one its officers suffered minor injuries after colliding with a 42-year-old woman while driving his police cruiser.

The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. on Thursday as the officer was traveling east on Gurley Street approaching Bradshaw Driver in Prescott. The woman was heading west and attempted to turn left when the two cars collided.

The officer had cuts and bruises on his arm but was treated on scene. The woman was transferred to a local hospital for evaluation.

The cars sustained major damage and the intersection was closed for a small amount of time while the Arizona Department of Public Safety investigated.
