Police seek jewelry thief in Prescott robbery

PRESCOTT, AZ - Prescott police are seeking a man who pepper sprayed an owner of a local jewelry store and stole a piece of jewelry valued at $1,250.

The man entered the jewelry store Monday at 5 p.m., pepper sprayed one of the owners and ran off with the jewelry, according to a department news release.

The other owner was working in the back of the store. He grabbed his handgun and ran after the suspect, ordering him to stop before firing three shots and missing as the suspect jumped into a red two-door coupe.
