A missing Humboldt man was found dead Tuesday afternoon from an apparent solo vehicle accident, according to Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office officials.
Dale Stewart, 49, had been missing since April 12 after he didn’t come home after work, authorities say.
YCSO located Stewart’s vehicle in a ravine off Highway 169, approximately halfway between Highway 69 and Interstate 17, according to YCSO’s media relations coordinator Dwight D’Evelyn.
Deputies found Stewart dead inside the vehicle, with injuries from the accident, YCSO says.
YCSO says an official cause of death won’t be released until they get results from the medical examiner.
Authorities don’t yet know why the man was heading away from the Humboldt area, YCSO says.
The Department of Public Safety will be investigating the accident, according to YCSO.
