PRESCOTT, AZ - A car slid off a slushy Arizona mountain highway and went 230 feet down a steep slope, but the four occupants were able to climb back up and flag down another driver to summon help.
The state Department of Public Safety says the accident occurred Wednesday on Highway 89A on Mingus Mountain.
DPS spokesman Raul Garcia says a girl was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital with serious injuries while two women and a second girl were released after treatment at local hospitals.
Garcia says the vehicle went off a straight section of highway without guardrails.
According to Garcia, the driver told an investigator that she was driving only 15 mph because conditions made it uncomfortable to drive faster.
