PRESCOTT, AZ - Fire officials say the Doce Fire near Prescott is 92 percent contained as of Friday morning, and crews hope to have it fully contained in the coming days.
Officials said the acreage remained at 6,767 Friday morning. The cost to fight the blaze has reached $6,628,586.
The fire began June 18 and has charred dense brush and timber in the Granite Mountain Wilderness about seven miles northwest of Prescott, forcing hundreds of residential evacuations.
Investigators say the Doce Fire was human-caused, but haven't determined the exact source yet.
The Alto Pit and Dosie Pit areas remain closed Friday, according to a news release.
