PRESCOTT, AZ - A man who told police he was frustrated living in Prescott was arrested after allegedly setting several items on fire early Thursday.
Prescott police said 33-year-old Daniel Cedergreen was arrested after he flipped over several signs and potted plants on Montezuma Street around 2 a.m.
Police say Cedergreen also lit two large banners and another sign on fire in the same area. The fires were still burning when police arrived.
Officers found Cedergreen in the alley behind Whiskey Row after someone called police.
Police say the suspect appeared to be lighting items in a dumpster on fire when he was confronted by officers.
Police say Cedergreen told officers he was upset and frustrated living in Prescott and that he was currently homeless.
Cedergreen would not admit to causing the damage or setting the fires, but witnesses identified him as the suspect. Police also found evidence linking him to the crimes.
Firefighters put out the small fires. There was no significant damage to any structures police said.
Cedergreen was booked into the Yavapai County Jail in Prescott for arson and felony criminal damage.
