PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - Monday night's sold-out Country Cares Concert , headlined by Dierks Bentley, raised over $476,000 for the 19 families of the firefighters who lost their lives fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire .
According to a press release, Brendan McDonough, the lone survivor of the Granite Mountain Hotshot crew, accepted the oversized check from Bentley made out to "The Families of the 19."
The event, which also featured The Band Perry, Randy Houser and David Nail, was organized by New KMLE Country @ 107.9, 92.9 KAFF Country, and R Entertainment Company.
"We are grateful to all the efforts of individuals and businesses that donated their time and resources to make this show a success," said Steve Hoshor, General Manager for 92.9 KAFF Country. "Our Arizona community banded together to make this benefit concert happen."
All of the proceeds from the benefit concert were donated to the United Phoenix Firefighters Charities which will distribute the money to the families.
