State Route 377 crash: Eastern Arizona highway re-opened after truck accident

HEBER, AZ - A highway in rural eastern Arizona has been re-opened after a one-vehicle accident involving a truck carrying hazardous material.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials say the entire 34 miles of State Route 377 between Holbrook and Heber was closed after the rollover accident early Friday.

The highway was re-opened around 1 p.m.

ADOT officials say hazardous materials crews worked to clean up the scene of the accident involving a truck carrying acetone.

Acetone is a flammable chemical that is both naturally occurring and manufactured. It has various uses, including dissolving substances such as nail polish and making plastics, fibers and drugs.

State Department of Public Safety officials say the truck driver was injured, but didn't immediately release any details.
